Head of Loan Boarding and Service Transfer
Description
The Head of Loan Boarding and Service Transfer is responsible for managing a small team of Loan Boarding and Service Transfer Leads. The team handles the end to end processes pertaining to new loan boarding (both flow and bulk transfer) and all servicing transfers out. The head serves as the point of contact with all CMG internal and external customers for loan boarding and liaises with key stakeholders to help the organization meet strategic goals. Ensures team is meeting managing requirements and meeting expectations throughout the loan boarding and service transfer process. This position will be responsible for their own pipeline in addition to managing the team assigned to all processes pertaining to loan boarding and service transfers. Assigns/delegates all work to team members and leads issue management throughout the transfer process. Directs the team in efforts to document and track all issues to resolution. Oversees the loan boarding process and leads the monitoring of post-boarding data QC to ensure systems reflect accurate information for all stakeholders which includes the consumer, all servicing business lines, regulators, auditors, investor/insurers, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders. Champions efforts to improve technology and process efficiency for the team. This position reports to the VP of Data Integrations & Technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Demonstrated experience leading/motivating team members in fast paced environment
- Actively supports workload management, jumping in to assist team members when necessary
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Serves as key escalation point for flow and bulk servicing transfers in and out
- Leads efforts with servicing business area stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and translate them into servicing transfer instruction and servicer questionnaire
- Leads the team in servicer-to-servicer mapping exercises to ensure high level of boarding data quality and integrity
- Oversees boarding mocks and tests data ingestion at pre-determined dates prior to scheduled service transfers, providing feedback to increase data integrity at time of transfer
- Ensures consistent processes are followed to preboard flow and bulk transfer data in servicing applications to allow for ease of consumer transition to CMG servicing
- Validates success in team’s completion of flow and bulk servicing transfer tasks for all ongoing loan boarding activities
- Designs processes to stage in-flight status loans (Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure etc) for immediate review as per business requirements, ensuring that status loans hit review queues immediately on boarding working closely with servicing application administrators
- Develops and implements post-transfer QC/reconciliation process to validate timely and accurate boardings occurred. Identifies and remediates any post-boarding exceptions
- Oversees issue management documentation and tracks all issues identified to resolution/closure for all inbound and outbound transfers
- Advocates for loan boarding process and technology enhancements and practices finding ways of eliminating gaps between the current state and a well-targeted future state.
- Keeps abreast of mortgage servicing industry trends and best practices in service transfer and loan boarding, and all regulatory requirements and actions specific to these areas
- Accepts other projects and assignments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
- 7-10 years of mortgage servicing experience required
- 5-7 years of experience loan boarding and servicing transfers in a client based environment.
- 5-7 years of experience with mortgage servicing interfaces such as LoanServ, MSP etc. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for loan boarding and service transfers
- 3-5 years of experience leading a team handling loan boarding and service transfers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to a diverse audience (technical, non-technical)
NOT REQUIRED BUT NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with OCR Technology/Document to Data testing
- Experience with LoanServ strongly preferred

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal. This position requires partial sitting and walking throughout the day. Employee must be open to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.
CMG pays a competitive salary which ranges from $105,000 to $120,000. Factors that affect salary may include: Mortgage Loan Boarding and Service Transfer, Management experience, overall knowledge of mortgage servicing industry, number of years worked in mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage customer's, and education.
